Not sure if i've put this in the right section or not ........

I had this happen to me once last year ....... ok it's rare i take her out in very cold weather but i do have her on the road all year round (gotta take your opportunities where they arise!!) ......... me being the complete dunce that i am i didn't' even know you could do anything to stop this Rolling Eyes just wondered if anyone had a) any tried and tested product they use and b) is it just a case of pouring it in or does anything have to be done to prep the tank first (i only filled up the other day!!!!)

I'm thinking ahead to saturday (assuming the weather is good) i don't want to get halfway to Gunthorpe and have her chugging on me! Shocked

Super unleaded petrol does help cut down the risk of carb icing, don't ask me how because I don't know Laughing

If you need to know anything about carb icing then just ask me....I have two carb'd Kwaks which are infamous for it Rolling Eyes

had this problem on my bandit and used a silkolene petrol addative profst I think.... which helped ...just put a bit in the tank every time i filled up

but as bikerchick said 97 octane petrol doesnt seem to do it as much and this is just because of the higher octane rating

I'm hoping I solved it now the 14 is injected...expensive fix buying a new bike
